Although you’re still your child’s main teacher and role model, once your child starts school he’s exposed to many new influences. During his first few years at school, he develops relationships with new people, both adults and other children. Peer pressure begins to rear its head. Importantly, school teaches a child the 3 Rs and how to set and achieve goals. Then there are areas like sports or music that your child may take a liking to. This is a time of rich possibilities and it’s good to encourage your child to try out new things without pressurising him.
