Virgin TV Christmas Stars Competition

Take your Christmas play from the school hall to the Virgin TV screen!

O come all ye teachers and parents! This Christmas, Virgin TV is giving schools across the UK the chance to take their Christmas play from the school hall to the Virgin TV screen – and your festive spirit (and entries) are needed to make it happen!

Virgin TV will film a special recording of a school's festive production and make it available, via on-demand, to its four million Virgin TV customers in the days leading up to Christmas.

A magical story deserves a very special narrator - and Stephen Mulhern (our favourite presenter and magician) will join the winning school’s cast to help tell the story for a one-off performance.

As it's the season of goodwill, the winning school will be awarded £5,000; the runner-up will receive £1,000; and twenty two schools will be given £100 for reaching the final stage of the competition.

Here’s what we’re asking of your little stars, choir of angels and frosty snowmen – and their invaluable teachers!

Your show can be a traditional nativity featuring Mary and Joseph, a brand new tale with talking snowmen and dancing reindeer – or anything in between! The production must have an original script and be between 30 and 60 minutes long.  The winning performance will be filmed at the winning school during the week commencing 10th December 2018.

To enter, Virgin TV is asking primary schools to write no more than 120 words about why your school's Christmas play should be made available to four million Virgin TV customers this Christmas and to provide a short synopsis of the play.

Please also upload an image or photograph promoting your Christmas play. It could be a photo of the cast at first rehearsal, or perhaps a poster designed to promote the production.

The competition closes at midnight on Tuesday 27th November 2018.

Entries will be judged on their creativity, originality and involvement of the children.

You will need to enter via the official online entry form, please see the link below
