Sukkot Activities for Children

Welcome to the Sukkot section on iChild!

This Jewish Festival is being celebrated on 16th October 2016 and on 5th October 2017.

Sukkot is also known as the Feast of Tabernacles, or the Feast of Booths. The word ‘Sukkot’ means huts, and Jewish families build an open air structure in which to live during the holiday. This is to remind the family of the time their ancestors lived in the desert in temporary homes after the Exodus.

This holiday begins at sunset on the previous day, so observing Jews will celebrate Sukkot on the sunset of the 8th October 2014.
