Shakespeare Activities for Children

Welcome to our Shakespeare section!

William Shakespeare (1564 - 1616) was born in Stratford upon Avon and worked as a successful playwright and poet (or "bard") in London.  No one is sure of his exact birth date, so legend has it that he was born and died on the same date, 23rd April.

He is our most famous poet, and possibly one of the greatest poets and playwrights in the world. Children learn about Shakespeare in school and many of his words and phrases live on in our every day language. Our activities celebrate the works of the "Bard of Avon".

We're celebrating Shakespeare Week from Monday 16th to Sunday 22nd March!

For more information and ideas, visit Shakespeare Birthplace Trust.

We also have some lovely illustrated Shakespare stories for children in our iChild Shop.
