These three articles were published during the middle of the 19th Century.
- 1842 "Seamen's Hospital Society": health problems in the navy, in particular for the Lascars.
- October 1850 "Cruelty to Lascars": court verdict on the cruel treatment experienced by the Lascars.
- November 1850 "Lascars in London": some members of the public and press were becoming concerned.
