French Activities for children
We are delighted to announce that we have partnered with leading primary language specialist La Jolie Ronde to develop our French and Spanish foreign language learning activities and worksheets on iChild. La Jolie Ronde has been successfully offering language learning for 3-11 year olds throughout the UK for over 25 years with fantastic results.
Classes are small (max 12 children per class) and children are grouped according to age. The emphasis is on "Fun" and programmes are designed to encourage a positive and enthusiastic approach to language learning. There are already many La Jolie Ronde centres throughout the UK and many schools are benefiting from enhanced pupil achievements in French and Spanish language as a result of these. Many parents are keen for their children to participate in language learning at an age when research has shown is the best time to learn, as young children are more relaxed and better at imitating sounds and pronunciation. The more they enjoy learning a language when they are young, the more likely they are going to find it a positive experience when they are older. Language learning develops a number of skills and can have both immediate and long term benefits.
Through fun, rewarding and interesting activities, La Jolie Ronde lays strong foundations for language learning. All the skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) are introduced progressively. Children are also introduced to the culture and geography of the language they are learning and to simple grammatical concepts in a fun and non-threatening way. A pupil's activity book allows children of different abilities to have a personal record of achievement. Each book comes with a CD for use at home, and on completion of each programme, children receive a certificate. More details on the course can be found here.
