Eid ul-Adha Activities for Children

Welcome to our Eid ul-Adha section!

The celebrations begin on 31st August, and in 2018 they'll begin on 12th August.

Eid ul-Adha (Festival of Sacrifice, also known as the Greater Eid)  remembers the prophet Ibrahim's readiness to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah. It is celebrated at the end of the Hajj. The Hajj is the pilgrimage to Mecca which all Muslims, who are strong enough and can afford it, are expected to do at least once in their lives.

The story of Ibrahim, or Abraham, is also in the Jewish Torah and the Christian Old Testament.
