Welcome to our section on English for Year 4

We are proud to be working with the Primary Officer of the National Association for the Teaching of English (NATE) to create this repository of teaching opportunities.

The beautifully-illustrated PowerPoints will save you considerable preparation time, as the resources take children step by step through the teaching sequence from reading to writing. Each year group has three resources: fiction, non-fiction and poetry, with the same theme (traditional tales of 1001 Arabia Night set in the Islamic Golden Age in 9th century Baghdad) threaded through all units of work. Each resource can be easily adapted to the needs of your class, and can cover several lessons.
